Balance

Sorry in advance if this sounds whiny or like I'm fishing for compliments, but I've gotta say something....*sigh* here goes

I've been running out of inspiration for my photography, big time. I try so hard to take great and interesting pictures but they never even begin to seem to compare to all the other amazingly talented photographers on DA. Their pictures get hundreds of favourites while I'm lucky to break 30. Now I'm not just complaining about how it's "unfair" or anything like that, their pictures more than deserve every fave they receive. I just hate how no matter how hard I try to do different lighting or different angles or coloring or anything it never comes out as well. Why? Am I trying to succeed in a field I just don't have the talent for? I can't be taught professionally (my school won't let non-majors take photo classes, and I'm already dual-majoring), so everything I know is from tutorials online and random experimenting. Will that ever get me anywhere? I can't even afford that much fancy equipment, especially macro equipment. In particular I feel like macro photography needs so many gadgets....I'm a broke college student struggling to save even for the occasional new lens, it's hard. I honestly am feeling a bit like this is all going nowhere and I'm stagnating...

Once again, sorry for the rant guys. I just really had to get this off my chest
